Earl of Winterburg
The lord of County Winterburg in the Duchy of Menendras is known as the "Earl of Winterburg". This is a legacy from the days before the Earldom of Brunheim split from the previous Earldom of Winterburg in 644 GC.
Officially, the title for the lord of the county should be Count, and indeed lords of the latter era went by that title, until the Soval family took power in 1146. Agnar Soval, first of his line to bear the title, insisted on the traditional title of "Earl" because he perceived it to be superior to that of "Count". Technically, in the Peerage of the Realms, Earls and Counts have the same level of privilege.
As of 1192 GC, the Earl of Winterburg is Guyan Soval.
